European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen proposed making which country an "associate member" of the European Union in her 2026 State of the Union address?

Explanation: In her 2026 State of the Union address delivered in Strasbourg, Ursula von der Leyen proposed making Canada an "associate member" of the European Union, describing the move as building common strength rather than opposing anyone else. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney attended the address as EU officials floated the unprecedented arrangement. Donald Trump dismissed the proposal as "laughable" and threatened to impose serious tariffs on Europe in response to the emerging partnership between Ottawa and Brussels.
