Explanation: The Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia was signed on 17 September 2025 at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. It commits both states to treat aggression against one as aggression against both, although it does not mandate automatic military intervention. The pact was concluded days after Israeli strikes on Doha. It later formed the foundation for the trilateral Makkah agreement of August 2026.
